We provide resource and specifically energy efficiency support to SMEs across the Midlands and continue to deliver programmes on behalf of local councils and other public bodies. ALO has key skills in the areas of resource efficiency, the application of renewable technologies, energy management systems and carbon foot printing. These are in addition to long standing skills supporting quality, the environment, process improvement, and the support of ISO management systems.
Work completed to date has helped many SMEs reduce their operating costs significantly and provided them with business development opportunities. ALO Management Ltd provides support where required on a range of topics, see services tab a great deal now aimed at cost effective sustainability and low carbon actions.
A project with a major Midlands college has provided the college with an assessment of their resource efficiency and detailed analysis of their energy use. Delivering a five year investment programme to enable the college to achieve zero carbon status by 2016, ALO have now been employed to provide an annual monitoring audit and support for the programme.
Following on from last years obligatory independent WEEE audit of an Major Midlands Authorised Treatment Facility the company achieved another successful waste audit.
Under the conditions of The WEEE Regulations all WEEE Approved Authorised Treatment Facilities, (AATF) operators and Approved Exporters, (AEs) who issue more than 400 tonnes of evidence must provided the Environmental Agency with a certified report. The report is required from an independent auditor demonstrating that the amount of evidence issued in a compliance year is consistent with the amount of WEEE received or exported for treatment, recovery or re-use. There have been significant changes to the WEEE Regulations impacting on AATFs and AEs who now have to demonstrate acheivemnt of the recovery and recycling targets by category.
ALO Management have also been working for the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, (UKAS) as a contractor providing technical support to their assessment activities for ISO17021 the international standard for certification bodies. Currently the support has included many sites in the UK and a number internationally. The latest version of the standard is now being implemented by certification bodies and assessment against the new version will start in October this year.
One of ALO Managements internal audit clients, a high quality aerospace component manufacturer has successfully achieved certification to the latest edition of AS9100, issue D. Targeted internal audits were used to test the systems compliance and the robustness of corrective actions, before the re-certification audit by the Certification Body.
